Forsyth Park Savannah Georgia Couple Sesson
If you've been following me for a while, you might recognize these two beautiful souls—Ryan and Storm. Our story began years ago when they agreed to model for me and another photographer during a shoot in Shenandoah National Park, back when I was still living in Virginia. From that very first moment, we hit it off. There was an instant connection, an effortless friendship that blossomed into so much more. Since then, Storm has second-shot for me at a few weddings (check out her stunning work!), and both of them have generously modeled for me on projects like when I worked with North End Bag Co.
Last year, after turning their van into a cozy, travel-ready home, they made the bold decision to embark on a road trip across the country. So, when I found out they were heading somewhat close to me—by close, I mean about four hours away, in Savannah, Georgia—I couldn’t resist. It was the perfect chance to reunite, reconnect, and document the start of their incredible journey.
It was my first time visiting Savannah, and I immediately felt its unique charm. There was something about it that reminded me of Charleston, but with its own distinct character. Savannah is one of those cities that takes hold of you, inviting you to slow down, soak in the beauty, and appreciate the details. We spent the day walking through its historic streets, and it didn’t take long before I realized why this city is so beloved by locals and visitors alike.
Our first stop was Forsyth Park, an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Savannah’s historic district. Spanning 30 acres, this lush green space was originally designed in the 1840s, and over time, it has become a central gathering spot for both residents and tourists. The park’s Victorian-inspired design, with its winding walking paths, charming gardens, fountains, and open areas, made for the perfect backdrop to capture Ryan and Storm’s love and their adventurous spirit.
As we wandered through the park, catching up on life and laughing together, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for these two. The connection we share feels effortless—genuine, like we’ve known each other forever. It's that kind of authenticity that I always aim to capture in my photos—moments that feel as natural and real as they are beautiful.
We didn’t rush. Instead, we let the surroundings lead us. After spending some time in Forsyth Park, we decided to leave our cars behind and simply walk through the neighborhood, exploring the charming streets until we found spots that resonated with us. The area surrounding the park is just as picturesque, with rows of stately homes and impressive architecture that seem to transport you back in time. A few blocks away, we stumbled upon a stunning street with grand staircases and intricate details, the perfect location to stop and take in more photos.
As we continued to wander, I couldn't help but marvel at how effortlessly Savannah had welcomed us. The combination of the historic charm, the laid-back vibe, and the sense of discovery around every corner made it an ideal place to spend the day. It felt like the perfect reflection of Ryan and Storm’s journey together—unpredictable, full of beauty, and brimming with possibility.
By the end of the day, I couldn’t help but reflect on how blessed I am to do what I do. I get to capture the love stories of people who are as genuine and inspiring as Ryan and Storm, and document the chapters of their lives in a way that feels timeless. It’s not just about the photos—it’s about the connection, the experience, and the raw moments that come with it. I always strive to create a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere that allows my couples to be themselves, to feel comfortable, and to embrace their love in all its glory. And with Ryan and Storm, that was effortless. Every frame was filled with real joy, true connection, and undeniable love.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the city, we wrapped up our time together. It was a beautiful spring day in Savannah, filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and stunning imagery. And as we said our goodbyes, I felt so grateful to have been a small part of their journey, capturing a few precious moments at the beginning of their adventure.
It’s moments like these—moments of pure, unposed beauty—that remind me why I do what I do. Every love story is different, and that’s what makes them so incredibly special. Whether I’m photographing a wedding or capturing the quiet moments between friends, I always strive to create images that reflect the true essence of who my couples are, and the love they share.
Ryan and Storm’s journey has only just begun, and I’m so honored to have been able to document a small chapter of it. Here’s to the countless more adventures that lie ahead—for them and for all of us who are blessed enough to experience the beauty of the world, and the love that makes it all worth it.
