Now that you know how I got to where I am, lets talk about why I love photography and my heart behind it.
I fell in love with photography before social media was a thing. There were no thoughts of what would get the most likes or what was trending. Those were not even a thing yet. For me it was all about capturing a cherished moment in time for the people in my world to look back on. I know talking about “moments” is kind of cliché in todays world when it comes to wedding photography and photography in general but the truth is, the most impactful photos are because the moments captured were meaningful or powerful. I feel like this is especially true when it comes to wedding photography. On a wedding day, the couple is surrounded by the people they cherish the most. Who knows if or when these people will all be in the same room again with a photographer. These memories matter! I have been shooting weddings for years now and in that time period, I have had several clients tell me their wedding photos that I took are the last professional photos they have of a loved one.
my approach
I have years of wedding photography experience but I also have years of live event photography experience. When you are shooting a live event there is no pausing to pose people, there is no moving for the best lighting. You have to be able to anticipate a moment before it happens. When I arrive to capture your wedding day, I am going to be bringing both set of skills. I am going to direct you when needed but I am also going to give space for candid moments to happen.
