When I shot this wedding in Palos Verdes California last year, little did I know I would be calling it my home soon thereafter. Almost exactly one year ago, I shot Tiffany & Derek's beautiful wedding day and that day I had no idea that I would end up writing their blog post from my home just a few miles from where it took place.

Tiffany & Derek’s wedding day started with the most brilliant blue sky over the ocean while everyone got ready at Palos Verdes Beach & Athletic Club. The atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful with the sounds of the waves crashing through the open windows. Lots of happy tears were shed as Derek and his mom saw each other all dressed up and then when Tiffany and Derek had their first look on the balcony of the club. After their first look we all headed to their venue, Catalina View Gardens. If you have never heard of this venue let me just tell you it is appropriately named as it is a 25-acre estate with stunning views of Catalina Island out in the Pacific Ocean. On a clear day like Tiffany & Derek’s wedding day, the backdrop is a beautiful vineyard that sits overlooking the ocean with Catalina Island in the distance. It is truly a breathtaking view to behold.  And just as beautiful as this view, was Tiffany & Derek’s ceremony. You could just feel their love for one another as they said their vows to each other. Tissues and smiles were all around. After the ceremony, since we had done a first look, Tiffany & Derek were able to enjoy cocktail hour in the courtyard as the sun began to set over the ocean. Since Catalina View Gardens is located in a neighborhood, there are noise restrictions.  Tiffany & Derek decided to have their reception at Harlyne J. Norris Pavilion so they could dance the night away with their friends & family! The night ended with Handel’s Ice cream and everyone rocking out on the dance floor!
